TAB Minutes: 3/27/25

Minutes are reported by Sammy the Snail because why not?

In attendance: Makayla, Lorelei, Emeline, Joel, Genesis, Brileigh, Paisley (probably should add some names to the current members list, Misty)

Food: Chips, dips, mini sodas, water, and other treats like girl scout cupcakes (cookie flavored NOT girl scout flavored)

1. Sunrise on the Reaping Book Launch Party

   1. 10/10. Would like more events like this in the future! Many members had their Mockingjay bags!

2. SRP Applications were given to TAB members in attendance and are available for TAB members who could not join us today. They will be out for non-TAB members starting Monday, March 31

3. OLA share: Misty emphasized her role and ethics as the teen librarian to keep, add, and defend the books for them in the collection. Mustang Library's teen space is super cool

   
   

   but it's ok! Because she got some ideas like Summer Reading Kick off Cake off! We will have teens select a random cake pan from our collection and let them decorate their best Color Our World-themed cake with it! More details to come! We will also borrow their nostalgic nights during summer reading by watching some fun movies and being "little" again.

4. Misty forgot to talk about the college corner accessories, so she will put some things in the Groupme poll to vote on... same with the light board she also forgot...

5. Next month's snack will include, possibly, pizza, garlic knots, popsicles, cookies, FANTA, and something with 0 sugar.

6. There was mention of how they would enjoy another May the 4th extravaganza. 👀

7. Crocheting granny squares for a summer blanket!

   1. Both Lorelei and Brileigh are currently making granny squares and are into this idea!

   2. Brileigh wanted to know the dimensions we want as she has a variety of sizes.

8. Next TAB meeting was to be on April 24th @ 4:30, but then it was mentioned that schools are now out on Fridays and we could move TAB to a Friday around lunch. We will keep TAB members posted on the Groupme as well as on the online calendar if there is a change.

9. FOL Crafts

   1. Makayla has a bunch of book hedgehogs and we discussed selling them and other teen crafts to raise funds for TAB projects or for FOL since they fund our projects? I dunno, Misty will think about it, though.

10. Brief mention made about having leadership positions again, but with how many activities and responsibilities teens have, it is asking a lot to put them in charge of one more thing, but we will keep thinking about it.

Next month's book will be voted on in Group Me. Teen Readers are looking forward to their own TEEN READS mini book cart and making mini books for discussed titles!
