SRP Volunteen Application Deadline is coming up
Asked about updated ways to stay informed about DPL teen things other than the FB page, Group Me, and the Newsletter.
Podcast Equipment has arrived, and the podcast space will be planned soon!
Renovations are keeping our teen space a little crowded, but TAB was updated on new art tables, college corner, and light-up signage (GET OUTTA MY SWAMP suggested for the neon marker sign)
TAB was concerned about teens not being out of school for the Summer Reading Orientation on Friday the 16th at 2 pm, but I've checked the school calendars for Duncan, Marlow, Comanche, Empire, Central High, Bray, and Velma, and, all schools will have either finished by then or be out on that Friday!
Instead of having t-shirts at the end, we will try to have an assortment of sizes so teens can decorate their SRP shirt at orientation
CAKE OFF Takeover will happen at the next TAB meeting on May 29th. Teens, not just TAB members, will form small groups, pick a random cakepan, and plan decorations for their Summer Reading Themed Cake (no nuts or nut products). Teens will return on Tuesday, June 3rd at 1 pm with their cake ready to decorate!
We will have reading challenges ready to go over by Orientation, so teens know what to say when people sign up.
We are already thinking about the end of Summer Party with HQ Experience again being considered for a party.
Misty will work really hard on having a place where volunteer work can be stored, full of bookmarks that can be cut out, and other tasks that can be accomplished to help keep teens from being bored
Hygiene kits have come in, and we will figure out the best way to get them into the lockers for those who need them.
Next, TAB meeting will have food that pairs well with discussing cakes and books.
TEEN READS:
No one was able to finish Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children selected for April; May's books will be Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief and/or A Good Girl's Guide to Murder. Misty has 3 copies of Percy Jackson at her desk for those who need one, and there are 3 copies of Guide to Murder on their way!
