Did you know that reading 1000 books to your child before they enter Kindergarten can vastly improve their ability to learn how to read? As your child's first educator, reading to them daily during these first formative years fosters a love of books and reading for a lifetime. Create wonderful memories for both you and your child while helping them develop a love for words, characters, and stories that will shape who they are and who they want to be! The 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program can help you do this! This program also has a downloadable app to help you track all the books you read with your child. While the Duncan Public Library is part of this program, we may have also created some of our own stickers to celebrate each 100-book milestone! You are welcome to download the original kit from the site or ask Miss Jessica more about getting your DPL-specific kit to start reading 1000 books to your child today!
