You know that computer in the corner of YA? Well, that's College Corner, and we have always wanted to make it less, "here's a computer..." and more, "here are books and resources and a space to do homework or study and find more information from local universities in a nice, comfortable, aesthetically pleasing area!" And we are finally getting there! There are still signs to be hung, desk accessories to be purchased, colleges to be contacted, and furniture to be moved, but what we can present you with now is a new desk, comfortable chair, and the much-essential Sammy the Snail hand-sanitizer pump as well as some information about USAO, Cameron University, and Rose State College! We've also added a College Corner Collection from the Non-Fiction sections for easier access.
GAME ROOM!
Have you guys used the Game Room yet? Reserve the space for up to 2 hours and play PS5 under the new, vibrant neon light, beckoning you to join the game!

& Other YA Things
We will be moving the study carrels next to each other in YA Nonfiction, and we have purchased drawing boards so teens can sit in YA and do art comfortably! We also have new, light-up signs to indicate that the teen space is, oddly enough, for teens!
**A note for adult readers: As a Teen Librarian, I am an Adult who reads YA almost exclusively, and I know there are others like me out there, so we don't mean that adults can't get a book from the teen space. I want you to check out and read any book you want from YA, but please do not "hang out" in the Teen Space or let your younger children roam freely in the space, it tends to discourage teens from wanting to use all these things that are meant for them... and it's really hard to get them to come back in once they are driven away by us old people and the tiny, harmless children! 😉
Your friendly neighborhood teen librarian,
Misty
