The next book Teen Reads has chosen is Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs. This title is typically rated for those ages 12 and older by both parents and teen readers, with some suggesting it is acceptable for readers as young as 10 and others insisting it should be only for those 14 or older because it does have some language and violence that younger tweens may find disturbing.
But if you'd like to take a chance, there are multiple copies available on Libby (both ebook and e-audiobook versions) to check out, and a few physical copies will be available at the library soon! Once everyone who wants to participate gets a chance to check it out, we'll schedule a time to have the discussion!
If you would rather not read this title, feel free to read a book like The Spiderwick Chronicles by Tony DiTerlizzi & Holly Black, which also has creepy vibes but may be preferable to teens who are uncomfortable with the language and themes of Riggs's novel. We have a couple of physical copies in the collection!
