DPL Teens want to read more books! Some are still reading from the Juvenile collection and will join Miss Jessica for some Tween Reads on the third Thursdays of the month, some want to keep reading middle grade books and will discuss Legend by Marie Lu with us at the end of the month, and in an unexpected and delightful twist, other teens want to focus on reading the classics! The YA book club is for older teens and younger adults who are ready for heavier topics, so at our first meeting, I suggested The Book Thief. This group took my suggestion and requested a Jane Austen novel. We ended up choosing Sense & Sensibility for our first read! This title is available digitally on hoopla and Libby, and we do have a few copies available at the library, both as a standalone and within the complete works of Jane Austen. More physical copies are on their way for anyone who would like to join us on February 14th at noon to discuss our thoughts on Austen's debut novel. We will also enjoy some finger sandwiches and other refreshments since it is Valentine's Day. YA Reads book club also decided to use the Fable App. If you would like to join the group on Fable, let me, Misty, know! Let's all read more classics this year!
