AHHHHHH! It's only 10 Days Left Until Summer Reading! We are getting closer and closer to that first sign up day and you can bet that library staff are getting ready to roll. But it's not JUST library staff this year! We've have community members joining us to lead different events and programs. Here's some of the community members working with us this summer:
Jan and Clay Cole: If you've ever been interested in Stained Glass, come talk with Jan and Clay Cole on Monday, June 16th at 5:30 PM! The Coles are some of the library's favorite people! Jan was library director for many years, and we display many of Clay's paintings at the library (Have you see the bear in the children's library hallway?). (sign up NOT required).
Karen Page: If you've attended one of the String Theory (fiber arts) meet ups here at the library on Tuesday afternoons, you've met Karen Page of Lone Ewe Fiber Arts! She will be leading a kids program on dying yarn with Kool-Aid on Wednesday, June 25th at 1:00 PM (sign up required).
Violet Estes: Violet spent multiple years as a summer teen volunteer, painted the gorgeous mural in the Teen Library, and will be back at it again with the Library this year, leading our first Paint and Pop class! Violet will be leading the class in painting and library staff will be there providing soda pop and mocktails for participants. (sign up required.)
John Hodgson: An avid library lover and accomplished woodworker, John Hodgson will be giving a talk about getting into this fun hobby! Come listen to him talk on Friday, June 6th at 4:00 PM at the Duncan Public Library. (sign up NOT required)
Hodgson Voice Studio: If you've attended a recent DLT production or had a child enrolled in the local Musical Theatre Summer Camps, you've met Veronica Hodgson! We're thrilled to say that she and the cast of Seussical Jr will be here on Thursday, June 26th at 11 AM to introduce us to the music of Gertrude McFuzz, the Sour Kangaroo, and Horton the Elephant with a concert of songs! (sign up NOT required)
And we're looking forward to seeing all of the community members who might participate in our Music Mondays or in our End of Summer Art Show!
