It's almost time for the library's annual summer chalk art contest! This year, the contest will be held on Friday, June 13th at 10:00 AM on the the sidewalks around the library. Color Our World is going to be such an AMAZING theme that gives a lot of creative freedom to explore this artsy theme.
Some Things to Know before the contest:
You sign up at the event. We start at 10 on the dot, so try to sign up around 9:45.
Contestants are divided into age groups: under 5, 6 - 11, 12 - 18, and family groups. If adults are helping the kids (at any age group) then you should sign up under the family category.
The library will provide chalk, but you are welcome to provide your own tools. Just make sure that you keep track of your things.
There will be bottled water provided during the contest.
You will have between 10 AM and 11 AM to draw your entire piece. Contestants will return inside for refreshments while the judging commences!
Judges will score on a 1-5 scale for each piece and then library staff will do the math to figure out the top 3 winners in each category. Judges will NOT be library staff.
It's usually pretty hot during the Chalk Art Contest! Dress to stay cool, wear your sunscreen, and drink LOTS of water.
So it goes
