April 6-12 is National Library Week! Every year, we set aside an entire week to draw attention to the critical role libraries play in supporting and serving everyone in their communities. Libraries are one of the few places to serve all regardless of any social or economic factor that may otherwise separate us, and that is something that should always be celebrated and supported! We work really hard to provide resources for all abilities and interests: large print books and audiobooks for our beloved, aging community, digital titles and delivery services for the homebound who can no longer come in to see us, books to help children learn to read, and even books and devices that will read themselves to you and your family. We also have databases that help you discover your family's story, do research on topics you want to understand better, help you or your child with homework, allow you to learn other languages for free, help you build a resume, help veterans find work, provide free legal documents, and hotspots so you can have wifi access at home... so many things that you may not know about or need but other members of the community rely on!
Your loud support for libraries (and museums) is critical now more than ever, and this week, we want to give you a way to show your support with a Library Spirit Week! Each day has been dedicated to a theme, so visit us to see the staff dressed up while showing us your library spirit by joining in on the fun!

Mon: Hat Day
Tues: Tie Dye Day
Wed: Book Genre Day
Thur: Pajama Day
Fri: DPL Shirt Day

While you are at the library this week, pick up and play Library Week Bingo!! It's just for fun (no prizes), but you might find something new you love about the library, which is a prize all its own!
